John Hammond's company, InGen (International Genetics Technologies), has taken an immense fall with the happenings in the films "Jurassic Park" and "The Lost World". InGen's rival company, Biosyn (Biological Synthetics Corporation), saw this event as an advantage to succeed where the other had failed. Having persuaded approval by both the American and Costa Rican government, Site B's private airspace was opened to Biosyn's helicopters, equipped to gather "specimens" and information.

Scientists and armed men raid the island, searching the abandonded buildings and warehouses. BioSyn finds much more than they bargained for -- with InGen's cloning knowledge and research aside, clues about another island bought near Guam are found, where construction had begun on a sort of Asian Jurassic Park, more appropriately named Cretaceous Park.

With the "keys to time" in their hands, BioSyn purchases and consumes Isla Draco (the island where this Asian Jurassic Park was being constructed), demolishing all previous construction on it and founding a high-tech prehistoric research facility. You are Nick Johnston, a scientist working in the Dinosaur Behaviour research department. On what seems like a normal day at work, a specimen loading incident goes haywire, as once again the dinosaurs break loose and run free among their helpless victims. But was this accident really an accident, or is there a more sinister conspiracy involved?

The main attraction in Chaos Theory will be the single-player aspect of the game. Our goal in the Chaos Theory team is to bring a new feeling of gameplay never experienced in Half-Life or any mod/total conversion for it. You'll be advancing from area to area, each time facing challenging puzzles and opponents. Your mission isn't simply to get off the island--first you have to do your best to try to put everything back in order. If/when that fails, you have to do the best you can to not only save yourself, but your fellow workers and Biosyn's research as well.

Chaos Theory will attempt to mix brains, brawn, as well as class where many other retail games have failed. Intelligent puzzles that require you to think, but aren't so completely oblivious that you'll end up frustratingly looking up walkthroughs--the challenges will be clever and most importantly *fun*, as a game should be. But let's not discard the fact that there are dinosaurs on this island, and most of them you encounter will defend themselves or persue you in any violent means necessary, and you'll be well equipped to defend yourself as well. The player will traverse many-a-building, and will also get his hefty fair share of outdoor areas. As for the Half-Life engine itself, the interface and functionality of many things will be added, removed, or changed.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that your main threat in a Jurassic Park-based game will be the ancient animal known as the one and only "dinosaur". However, artificial intelligence will be supurbly designed to allow the animals to act and react like animals, not killing machines. They want to stay alive just as much as you do. If you shoot a Velociraptor's leg to the point that it limps, it'll get the point that you are dangerous and do its best to whimper back home. Serene animals such as the Triceratops usually won't attack unless it feels threatened. The currently decided animals that the player will interact with are listed below:
- Velociraptor
- Dilophosaurus
- Pachysephalasaurus
- Procompsognathus triassicus
- Metriacanthosaurus
- Carnotaurus sestrei
- Tyrannosaurus Rex
- Stegosaurus
Other animals will at least be seen in the distant jungle, listed below:
- Brachiosaurus
- Apatosaurus
- Parasaurolophus
- Gallimimus

The facility's solid security team is spread throughout the island, trying to contain the animals and protect fellow comrades. Carrying shotguns and rifles, you'll find them a lovely aid when confronted by large numbers of opponents. You'll also find fellow workers and scientists stranded--just as you are--on the island that will be critical tools in helping you to advance in the game.

After the incidents on Isla Nublar and San Diego that Biosyn has observed, they've learned a valuable lesson to never go unprepared. High-powered weapons are accessible throughout the game
via emergency bunkers, security buildings, and stranded bodies. The currently decided weaponry to be used in the game is listed below:
- Construction Rebar
- Sledgehammer
- Combat Knife
- Vekter CP1 9mm Compact pistol
- Desert Eagle .50 calibur Action Express pistol
- SPAS-12 Semi-Automatic Shotgun
- Heckler & Koch MP5K
- Colt M-16 A2 Automatic Rifle
- PSG-1 Sniper Rifle
- Fragmentation Grenade
The player will also utilize protective armor and other useful items such as a motion detector to aid him throughout the facility.
